We are pleased to invite you to the screening of the movie "Quijotes Negros" within the framework of IMAGINE Euro Tolerance Festival on 8 May, 18:30 at the Cineclub (the Landmark Hotel). The movie will be screened in Spanish with English subtitles and the screening will be free of charge. The film director, Sandino Burbano, has a link with Baku and he will reveal it in an interview specially prepared for IMAGINE. The interview will be presented by Sandino’s friend and IMAGINE guest, Belgian/Ecuadorian film director Xavier Solano.

Quijotes Negros received several awards including the best movie in Mar del Plata Festival in the category of fantastic cinema and was included in the Top 20 best Latin American films of 2017. The story is about a black Quijote and an Andean Sancho, marginalized Latin Americans and dreamers, who kidnap the Queen and the Princess of Spain. However, they do not know about their identities, and then they fight to win their love.

Description of movie:
The Brazilian badlands, April 1910. Tonho is ordered by his father to avenge the death of his older brother. The young man knows that if he commits this crime, his life will be divided in two: the 20 years he has already lived and the few days he has left to live, before the other family avenges their son's death. He is torn between fulfilling his ancestral duty and rebelling against it, urged by his younger brother Pacu. That's when a tiny traveling circus passes through the vast badlands where Tonho's family lives.
