A young German transforms himself. Jakob Sachs converts to Islam, becomes a Salafist, alienating himself from his family. Allah means everything to him. This is not the final turning point for Jakob in his search for God. He and his wife will follow the Bahai religion. For the couple, the step means liberation. With this documentary, his older brother, Eli Roland Sachs, tries to trace and perhaps understand Jakob's ways. BRUDER JAKOB (BROTHER JAKOB) is not a film about Islam, but about a young man who is sometimes naive, but who vigorously searches for the meaning of life.
