Open Data and Data in Journalism - Today!

How can data be turned into compelling stories? Where do journalists, writers, and researchers in the U.S. find good data to support their work? What effect can good data stories have on the life of a society?

All of these questions will be addressed on May 18 at 18:00 by professor Jeff South, Director of undergraduate studies in the Robertson School of Media and Culture at Virginia Commonwealth University. Professor South will present award-winning data journalism stories created by him, his colleagues and students in the US, and discuss both the power and the challenges of harnessing data for public good.

The event is OPEN and FREE to all!
