Le photographe suisse Cedric Christopher Merkli s’est diplômé en Design et Communication à Zurich. Ses travaux ont été publiés dans divers magazines et journaux. Merkli a fait spécialement pour cette exposition à Ganja une nouvelle collection de photographies dédiées à la tradition ancestrale des fermiers suisse, producteurs du fromage des Alpes. Cette exposition plongera le public dans une ambiance dédiée à la beauté des Alpes Suisses et sa nature intacte en découvrant une antique tradition.
«Depuis 1739, la tradition du "Chästeilet" (distribution de fromage) a lieu à Justistal. Au cours de l'été les fermiers alpins,
produisent du fromage en utilisant le lait de plus de 250 vaches. À la fin de l'été, le fromage est distribué parmi les fermiers, selon un rituel vieux de 300 ans, le «Chästeilet». Par la suite fermiers, habillés dans leurs costumes traditionnels, retournent vers les Alpes avec leurs vaches. Celles avec le plus haut rendement laitier porteront une couronne de fleurs.»

In the framework of the Weeks of Francophonie in Azerbaijan, the Embassy of Switzerland in Azerbaijan is organising a photo-exhibition by the artist Cedric Christopher Merkli at the Mesheti Genjevi Centre, in Ganja city. The exhibition will take place from the 16 march to the 16th april 2018.
The Swiss photographer Cedric Christopher Merkli graduated in Communication Design in Zurich. His works have been published in various magazines and newspapers. Merkli made especially for this exhibition in Ganja a new collection of photographs dedicated to the antique tradition of the Alp Cheese farmers in Switzerland. These exhibition will plunge the public into a Swiss Alps atmosphere, where they will reconnect with the beauty of the intact nature and learn about antique traditions.
Your code is here « Since 1739 the traditional "Chästeilet" (cheese distribution) takes place in Justistal. During the summer alpine farmers, produce cheese using the milk of more than 250 cows. At the end of the summer, the cheese is distributed among the farmers according to a 300 years-old ritual, the "Chästeilet". Afterwards, it comes to the departure back to the Alps, when the cows with the highest milk yield will be crowned with a wreath and accompanied form the farmers dressed in their traditional costumes.»
